Vital Point originated from the acupoint Gaohuangshu (Bladder 43)- meaning Vital Region/Energy Point. This concept refers to one of the deepest and most fundamental regions of the body. The great Chinese Physician Sun Si-Miao discussed this point in the Thousand Ducat Formulas stating "there is no disorder that it cannot treat" and "once moxabustion is completed, it causes a person's yang qi to be healthy and full".
